This is the bottom of my “bag-in-progress”. It’s not very large. The rectangle for the base was 3.5 by 8.5 inches. Then I picked up stitches all around and am continuing in the round.
The stitch is called Garter Slip Stitch, from one of my stitch pattern books. You’ll see from the close-up that I get a ridge in the Marble yarn followed by a ridge with alternating Marble/grey stitches.
I have seven shades of leftover Marble from previous projects which all have a twist of grey in them, and I’ve paired them with dark grey Carolina from Marks and Kattens.
A nice way of using up some bits and pieces and knitting with my favourite yarn 🙂
Very pretty effect!
