Thanks to a Ravelry Sit & Stitch Saturday afternoon, and a little more knitting today, I have finished the Baktus scarf. Owing to my conservativeness, I have some yarn left over, but that’s preferable to running out before the end I suppose. No photo of the FO yet, as I only bound off a few minutes ago.
Spring has officially arrived. How do I know? Well, the weather has a lot to do with it, of course. Warm days in the double digits Celsius, barely any icy snow left in shady spots. I stood outside on the deck this morning enjoying my smoothie in the sunshine. We liberated the bicycles from the shed this afternoon, washed them down, oiled them and pumped up the tires. The trampoline mat has been re-attached to the frame.
So it’s goodbye to these….
and these….
and hello to this….
and this….
and I can confirm that this little home (the brown one) is officially occupied – I saw a sparrow taking nest materials through the door today.
And some excellent news on the knitting front. I found the Stitch and Bitch knitting book in the bargain section of my local bookstore today. It usually retails for $19.99. It cost me $2.99! I couldn’t resist it at that price.
Today is Mother’s Day in the UK. I suppose it’s earlier over there as their flowers bloom so much sooner than ours in Canada (where Mother’s Day doesn’t happen until May). Tai Chi Man and I arranged for both of our mothers to receive a bouquet of tulips and daffodils and some local fudge. They were happy!
Mothering Sunday! Happy Mothering Sunday. Aren’t you glad you don’t have to travel from your slog of a life back to the family homestead then back again all in one day?
Awesome find, Nicola.
Happy Spring to you! It’s not here yet – but I can tell it’s coming…
