My Ravelry project page, until this evening, listed this UFO as “Probably a Fair Isle Bag.” Now, it definitely IS a bag! I had a lot of fun with the elann micro cotton and my Harmony #4 needles, though I think I prefer two circs to magic loop these days. I made up the patterns and the colour combinations as I went along, and I think I repeated the same colour combo only once.
I was going to buy some ribbon for the drawstring and then thought, to heck with it, I’m going to break out ye olde i-cord machine and crank out a couple of yards. The sport weight yarn is at the heavy end of what the machine can handle, but it did the job perfectly. I will be buying some pretty fabric to go inside though. A knitted bag always benefits from a lining, and that means I won’t have to weave in the bazillion ends on the inside.
I’m 99% sure that I know who this bag is for – one of my Pay it Forward people. So far I have given out only one of the five handmade gifts that I have promised. This will be the second.
