clown socks

Someone on Ravelry called their yarn “clown barf” the other day and now I can’t help thinking that this yarn could be described the same way.

This is the thrift store treasure I found last week: Berroco Comfort DK Sport. I started this sock at my friend’s house on Friday and adding to it gradually during car journeys over the last few days I have finished the leg, heel and gusset. Just the foot to go.

I’m using 3.25mm dpns and the gauge is 6 stitches to the inch, so I only had to cast on 48 stitches. This is the usual basic sock pattern from The Knitters Handy Book of Patterns (though I have it memorised these days). These will be done in no time.
