I seem to have neglected you lately, dear blog. I have been knitting something cute for a baby that’s due in the summer – my friend’s first great-grandchild. The mass of knitting books that I reserved at the library paid off.
Itty Bitty Toys by Susan B Anderson had just the thing. A reversible toy, one that can be either a cat or a mouse, depending on which way you turn it. The recipients of the toy have a black cat so rather than make a striped one as per the book I made my cat black, and the mouse white.
I was running low on fibrefill and I think the heads would have been better stuffed firmer and attached more solidly to the body – they are a little wobbly.
This was knitted with Knitpicks Brava Worsted in black and white mostly, plus a little rouge and denim.
The final picture shows the toy when half reversed so you can see how the head of one fills the body of the other.

I need to knit more cat related items!
