I have visited Michaels a few times recently. While ds3 has been indoor rock climbing, I have had the opportunity to go the nearby stores, and today I visited both Michaels and Fabricland.
Even if I am in possession of a 40% off coupon I won’t necessarily buy anything. It has to really appeal and be something I know I will use. So I went in there thinking that if I saw a variegated yarn that would make good cellphone cosies I would consider buying one skein with the coupon.
Well, Michaels own brand, Loops and Threads Charisma, was discounted to almost half price, and I liked the colours well enough to get five balls. I really like crocheting with the couple of coloured aluminum hooks that I already have. Plastic is nowhere near as slick. So I will get the ruler next time there’s a coupon in the flyer.

The Charisma is a bulky yarn, 109 yards to a 3.5 oz ball, 100% acrylic and feels nice and soft. I think it will be good for cell cosies as it has long colour changes.
