Here is a tutorial that I found via Ravelry for a granny square that is a large circle which is then squared off. I only wanted the circle, so I worked the first five rounds and then started working the straight sides, but soon realised I’d run out of yarn before it was big enough. So I ripped back to the fourth round, then did a round of (3dc in chain space, 2dc in next chain space), then started working solid rounds without any spaces. I managed three rounds of dcs and then edged it with reverse sc. I really like how this turned out.
I used Loops and Threads Charisma with a 6.5mm hook.
