It is actually an official snow day here. The first day of school has been cancelled for the first time in 35 years.
The snow has been falling relentlessly for about 36 hours now and it’s hard to keep up with in the driveway. I am going to bug the kids to get out there with me later. I’ve cancelled an appointment for 4pm, because I really don’t want to drive today – the graders are not keeping up with the snow. Tai Chi Man went to work but the snow was scraping the bottom of his car and it was touch and go in places.
So I shall stay home and get my housework done, shovel snow, make dinner and knit! That sounds pretty good, actually.
I was having fun looking around Etsy last night and found this product called a Koala Caddie. It’s an apron/tote for carrying your knitting and crochet works-in-progress. You can wear it as an apron and pick up or put down your project easily and quickly, or just use it as a regular bag. They are made in the US out of interesting fabrics, are usually unique, and are about $75. I am going to be cheeky and have a go at reverse engineering the design for myself.
I hope that wherever you are, you are warm and safe. Happy winter days to you!
