The random scrappy look is mostly pleasing to my eye, though there’s a couple of spots that I find a bit jarring, one of them being near the top edge of the bag flap. The lurid pink and cream are too contrasting. So after I had the idea of finishing the top edge of the bag and around the flap with black, I thought it would be interesting to add some surface crochet to draw all the colours together.

Then I steamed it to flatten it out.

The bag doesn’t yet have a handle or strap. Not sure what I’m going to do about that. In the top two pics there are two skeins of yarn stuffed inside, the bottom two are of the empty bag.
