A blissful home day today, with the only other occupant a sleeping teen! A neighbourhood walk, a bit of laundry, some kitchen and bathroom cleaning, and I felt like the ‘work’ was done. So off I went to my sewing room and whipped up another cat bag. (I noticed that there was some more co-ordinating fabric at the store – can I resist?)
This one differs a little from the first one. It’s about the same size, approximately 18 inches square, but the handles are six inches shorter to fit better as a shoulder bag which doesn’t dangle too far. Also, I incorporated the handles in the top seam when joining the outer fabric and lining, and it makes for a much tidier finish, with the raw ends hidden.
Instead of one pink pocket inside, there are two large kitty pockets, about 10 inches square. I think this will become a favourite bag very quickly, not just for yarny projects but for anything bulky that I need to carry.
I found some cute little ‘handmade’ plaques in a drawer, one of which I sewed on my friend’s bag (because I haven’t given it to her yet) and one on mine.
Future sewing plans include making one or more drawstring bags with this cat fabric. And I will soon be able to show you the crochet project I’ve been working on this week as a commission.
Well, I can’t sit around here yakking all day, I have to make soup for dinner. I hope that where you are, you’re warm and happy and enjoying your crafting.
Love that… well done you…xx
Thank you!
